About The Event
Dom Pipkin has been at the forefront of European musicians keeping the classic New Orleans RnB sound alive for well over a decade. Blues in Britain magazine describes him as “One of the world’s greatest exponents of New Orleans music. A true piano talent” As a piano player and composer, Pipkin is at home with the classic jazz of Jelly Roll Morton right through to the styles of Dr John, Professor Longhair and Henry Butler. He was invited to play at the world premiere of the award-winning “Bayou Maharajah” documentary on the New Orleans pianist James Booker in Austin, Texas, and he has appeared alongside such luminaries as Jin Cleary, Allen Toussaint and Ellis Marsalis at Piano Night, New Orleans.
He has also pursued an active keyboard session career, directing artists such as Paloma Faith, playing shows with Paul Weller, being the long-term keyboard player with Morcheeba, to name just…
