Java Jam

Java Jam are a highly accomplished and versatile band playing a delightful mix of American songbook classics, sassy bossa nova, some well chosen lesser known standards, and the occasional pop tune with a jazzy twist.

 They are led by the sublime vocals of Sarah-Jane Hassell whose vocals are clear and strong. Her melodic phrasing and rhythmic subtlety make her a highly praised and in-demand performer. Roger Lewin is on piano duty, his virtuosity and versatility make him a first choice for any musical outing from a solo pianist to an ensemble of any kind. Completing the line-up are Phil Brown (tenor sax), Alex Keen (bass), and Jonathan Ward (drums), all very fine and much sought after players.

Sarah-Jane has worked extensively in the West End, coming to prominence playing The Mistress in 'Evita' at the Prince Edward Theatre.
